Mr Mike Crisp
Parent Governor
I am the father of Grace who is 6 years old, and in Year 2 and Lily 4 years old and who is in reception. I grew up in Harrow, attending Pinner Park and Hatch End High schools, before going to Stanmore College. Together with my wife Claudine we moved back to Harrow in 2010 to raise our family. I am very keen to ensure that each and every child at Marlborough is given the opportunity to learn and develop to their full potential in a safe and supportive environment. I believe I bring enthusiasm and challenge to the role of parent Governor, representing parents, and supporting the staff, balanced with appropriate challenge. I am now the Chair of the Finance Committee. I am a professional Risk Manager with a good understanding of Finance and Governance, and use these skills constructively to the benefit of the school. Outside of work, I enjoy cooking for the family, reading both with the children and for recreation, and many different types of music.
Dr Kate Carroll
Parent Governor
I work as a Reader in Education at a higher education institution. My professional work at a teacher training university provides me with insights into the challenges and rewards involved in delivering high quality, inclusive education for all children, as well as an understanding of the day to day running of schools. I am proud to be a governor at Marlborough school; we have such a diverse and vibrant school community for our children to grow and develop in.
Mrs Kala Nair
Co-opted Governor
My daughter was a student at Marlborough. My background is in Education; as a teacher and an Examiner. I managed a performing arts faculty and coordinated peer support and anti-bullying at a school. I have lived and worked in Harrow for coming up to 25 years. The happiness, safety and progress of our young people is important to me. The picture of me was drawn by my daughter.
Mrs Michelle Nicholls
I have one child at Marlborough and have been a governor since late 2015. Professionally I have worked in Management Consultancy and Technology with a background (and post grad qualification) in Marketing. My career is now focussed on Talent development for a global technology business with c 200,000 people. I have been running an employability programme in schools for several years reaching around 6,000 students each year. I'm passionate about the value of education in narrowing the social divide and strongly believe that with good academics and access to a rich and diverse curriculum our Marlborough children will be valued members of Britain's digital society. As someone who loves reading I'm pleased to be the link governor for literacy. I work part-time, so try to do the majority of pick ups, and I hope I'm friendly and approachable so always feel welcome to say hello.
Mr Devlin Boyle
Staff Governor
Mrs Daphne Byron
Ms Marie Roberts
Clerk to the Governors
Mrs Catherine Priest
Mrs Sonia Moore
I am a parent governor. I have two children, both now all grown up who both attended Marlborough school. I am a graphic designer and art director employed by Penguin Random House in London. I work tirelessly on community events particularly arts and horticultural projects. I am passionate to increase the range creative projects and activities in school and am proud to be able to continue to support the children parents and staff at the school in a role as governor. I feel that everything is possible when we use our positivity and imagination.
Mrs Duaa Karim
‘I don’t have Dreams, I have Goals’ In life we learn how to experience and grow and with age comes the realisation that we must have goals and ambitions in life and work towards them. As a parent I can share this with my children and ensure they have the understanding to persevere and reach their goals. As a Finance Manager in the NHS I continuously incorporate my experiences into my daily job and this enables me to become a more rounded person. The trick is to mix the two and give back to the community and in my case, assist the school as a Parent Governor in any way I can so that they can make things happen for the new generation and work toward giving every child a bright future.
