On 26th February 2018 Marlborough Primary School, Mrs Hilary Adil, Professional Development Assessor from University College London's, (UCL) Institute of Education, (IOE) visited Marlborough Primary School for the day to assess the standard, quality and impact of professional development available to all staff within the school.
Mrs Adil met with Mrs Byron who leads on Professional Development, Mike Crisp, Link Governor, a range of staff teachers, teaching and non-teaching support staff from across the school in addition to having a discussion with children from Key Stages 1 and 2.
After meeting with the staff, governors and children, Mrs Adil took time to review all the school's evaluation and evidence to support achievement of the Professional Development Quality Mark, (PDQM) criteria. Mrs Byron and the Senior Leadership Team evaluated the school's professional development as fulfilling 'silver' or 'embedded' criteria.
Mrs Adil felt that the school had achieved a tremendous amount in a very short space of time, and the impact and investment in developing staff as a means of raising standards was clearly visible.
On 28th February 2018 Mrs Byron recieved confirmation of the school's achievment of the PDQM Silver Award. This report is availble for you to download and read below.
We are thrilled to have achieved such a prestigious award and even more delighted that following a verification meeting at UCL it was decided that Marlborough Primary School would have a reduced period to be assessed against 'gold' criteria and professional development standards. This can now take place in February 2019 as opposed to February 2021 which is the usually time period.
A HUGE congratulations to all the staff of TEAM MARLBOROUGH who value the opportunities available to be life-long learners and develop individually and as a school FOR EVERY CHILD'S BRIGHT FUTURE!
