Harrow Music Services

Music is taught in every year group from Nursery to Year 6 where we teach the related skills of playing, singing, listening, improvising and composing music. Music is also embedded within the International Primary Curriculum (IPC).  KS1 and KS2 enjoy weekly singing assemblies where they sing both modern and traditional songs and are exposed to music that reflects the cultures within the school and the wider community we live in.

With a strong partnership with Harrow Music Services, children have opportunities to learn a variety of instruments throughout their time at Marlborough with the option to complete grade exams. Children can learn the following instruments:

  • Guitar
  • Saxophone
  • Clarinet
  • Flute
  • Steel pans
  • Violin
  • Recorders
  • Trumpets
  • Keyboard

Children are given further opportunities to perform their music in class assemblies, termly performances and the KS1 and Year 6 productions. Marlborough Primary also has a dedicated KS2 choir who perform at school concerts and during assemblies.
